IHK Diamond Seminar at Palakkad

The 20th Annual Convention of The Institution of Homoeopaths Kerala was held at the District Co-operative Bank Mini Hall, Kollam on 5th May 2007. Hon.Minister for Labour & Excise Sri.P.Gurudasan was the Chief Guest. General Secretary Dr.V.M.Kunju-moideen welcomed the delegates. State President Dr.Binoy Vallabhassery presided the meeting. In his Presidential address he pointed out the lack of vacancies, infrastructure and medicines in the ESI Hospital of homoeopathy. He also requested minister to start new homoeopathic dispensaries in the ESI sector. The representation was also given to the minister. The Hon.Minister Sri.P.Gurudasan inaugurated the meeting. In his welcome speech he promised to look into the matter and do the needful. Worshipful Mayor Kollam Sri.N.Padmalochanan in his felicitation speech stressed the need to propogate homoeopathy. He asked the doctors to go to the people and to get acceptance from them. He promised all support to homoeopathic system. Dr.B.Suresh gave away the vote of thanks. After the meeting the dias was handed over to Dr.K.C.Prasobh-kumar,State Returning Officer. He requested all the members to co-operate for the smooth conduction of the election. General Secretary Dr.V.M.Kunjumoideen assisted the Returning officer. Nomination papers were issued at 11.45 am. General Secretary announced the list of newly elected District Secretaries.

Out of State Council members 131 members attended the meeting. Of 131 members 34 members contested for the 15 General seats. After the scrutiny

all nominations were found valid. All candidates were given time to present themselves. Election to the 15

General seats of the State Committee was held at 1.20 pm through secret ballot. After the voting SC disbursed for lunch. Dr.Kunjumoideen, Dr.Binoy .S. Vallabhassery, Dr.Roy Wilson, Dr.K.P.Roshan, Dr.Vidyaprakash and Dr.B.Suresh assisted the Returning officer in the election procedures. Counting of the votes started at 3 pm. Out of the polled 131 votes 4 votes were found invalid. Returning officer declared the names of the elected members. Following is the list of the elected members to the State Executive Committee.

First Meeting of SEC 2007-2008

In the first SEC meeting held to elect the new office bearers, Returning officer Dr.K.C.Prasobhkumar presided the meeting. Dr.V.M.Kunjumoideen welcomed the SEC members. Except three all other members attended the meeting. Dr.V.M.Kunjumoideen assisted the returning officer in conducting the election.

After the election of the new office bearers the State Council reconvened at 6pm and the newly elected office bearers were declared in the SC.Dr.V.M.Kunju- moideen in his farewell speech expressed his sincere thanks and co-operation given to him during his tenure in the office of the General Secretary. He promised all support to the new office bearers.

Dr.Binoy.S.Vallabhassery in his acceptance speech said that his theme for the year is “Unite to Strive” and it will be the basic in all his work. He declared that IHK leadership would adopt all the possible measures to carry out the projects and programmes of IHK on a time bound manner without deviating from the policies of IHK.

64th State scientific seminar hosted by Kozhikode unit

Treasurer Dr.B.Suresh presented the proposed budget for the year 2007-2008. After the discussions on the budget proposals State Council accepted it with some alterations.

61st State Scientific Seminar

On the second day 6th may 2007 State President of IHK Dr.Binoy.S.Vallabhassery hoisted the flag at District Co-operative Bank Hall at 9 am. The General body meeting of the 20th Annual convention and 61st State Scientific seminar started at 10am. State President Dr.Binoy Vallabhassery presided the meeting. Sri.P.Rajendran, Hon.MP of Kollam and Dr.S.Prasannakumari - Director of Homoeopathy were the Chief Guests. General Secretary Dr.V.M.Kunju-moideen welcomed the gathering. In his welcome speech he pointed out the menace of the Quackery in Homoeopathy and stressed the need for the Medical Practitioners Bill for entire Kerala.

Dr.Binoy Vallabhassery in his Presidential address seeked the support and co-operation of the media for the various ventures and programmes of Homoeo-pathy and IHK. He pointed out the injustice done to Homoeopathy by not including it to the proposed Medical University. He also stressed the need and demands of the IHK to the Government.

Sri.P.Rajendran inaugurated the convention and seminar. In his inaugural speech he promised all the assistance to Homoeopathy and IHK. Hon.MP.

Sri.P.Rajendran gave away the awards. The winners of the awards were Media Award Visual – Indiavision –Dr.Narayan, Media Award Audio – Kozhikode AIR,

Media Award Print – Deshabhimani, and Best Homoeopathic Doctor for the year 2006-2007-

Dr.S.Prasannakumari felicitated the meeting.

Dr.S.Manilal, South Zone Vice-President delivered the keynote speech. Treasurer Dr.B.Suresh and CCH

member Dr.Vidyaprakash also addressed the gathering. Vote of Thanks was given by Dr.G.Girisankar-Organising Committee Chairman.

The Scientific session started at 10.30 am. There were

three sessions. The first session “The very latest advances in Diabetology” was presented by Dr.Jyothidev Kesavadev. The second session “Homoeopathiyude Sastreeyatha” was presented by Dr.B.S.Rajasekharan. The third session “The Quinessential Management of Diabetes with Homoeopathy” was presented by Dr.G.Harikumar.

At 2.30pm the meeting adjourned for lunch. At 4pm Dr.K.C.Prasobhkumar Returning officer conducted the installation ceremony of new office bearers of IHK. A sensational farewell was given to Dr.V.M.Kunju-moideen,The General Secretary. State President Dr.Binoy Vallabhassery distributed awards to the units and members who worked with excellence last year. The scientific session resumed at 4.30pm and ended at 5.30pm. Dr.Girisankar-Organising Committee Chairman gave away the Vote of Thanks and the programme ended at 6.15pm.
